Royal Blood//Rock City, Nottingham

Last night I went to Royal Blood's last UK show at Nottingham Rock City, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The band, made up of dream team Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, perfectly performed on the cusp between arrogance and confidence. Even when an arsehole audience member threw his drink at Mike right at the beginning of Careless: they stopped playing, called the culprit out, and he was kicked out to a chorus of heckling from the crowd. At the end of the gig, Mike told the crowd: "Despite the c**t-escapade, I've thoroughly enjoyed myself this evening".

They performed their album in it's entirety, as well as several B-sides, bringing the house down with serious rock and roll slam, and causing major post-gig blues among everyone who was in attendance at the sold-out show. My voice this morning was a husky drawl, and my collarbone and shins are fifty shades of bruised due to uncontrollable and inevitable moshing.
